You can choose to leave the dress at the seamstress shop or take it home right away. If you choose to leave it there, you know that nobody will accidentally touch it at home. The shop should ensure that it is placed in its own polyethylene case and bag.
Going home with your dress a week before the wedding helps your mind to visualize the day. Just ensure that kids will not access it and try it on themselves. More importantly, keep it under lock and key so that you can preserve its beauty and allure for the wedding day.
