Ramadan, which is the most spiritual experience of a Muslim’s life, is the holiest month in the Islamic Calendar. It involves abstaining oneself from sin, in the belief that it will lead to a greater Taqwa and Forgiveness from Allah Almighty. The countdown has already begun and we are sure most of you would be stock-piling so many goodies to enjoy in the Holy Month but, the main question still lies, How to manage your precious time between the Ibadah and your normal routine, while enjoying the blessings along with it. For that, we have compiled some amazing tips to thoroughly plan the Holy Month.
Having a solid plan before the start of Holy Month provides an extensive overview of what to do and how to manage it with ease. Hold a family meeting where the discussion should be the meal plans, the daily routine and the time specified for just Ibadah.
Planning your menu way before the start can help you get a wider view of the expenses and you can add and remove things accordingly. You can purchase the goodies according to the menu as well.
Try to analyze and get a rough idea of how much time you can spend on your Ibadah. The foremost goal of the Holy Month is to increase one’s Taqwa, and for that, divide the days in order to get the maximum amount of time for Ibadah.
Involve your kids and other young family members in Ibadah, which not only creates harmony and strong bonding but also teach the youngsters to walk on the right path from a very young age.
Try to create S.M.A.R.T (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound) goals that are realistic to achieve. Towards the middle of Ramadan, the zeal slowly gets lower and many of us get caught up with their work, family responsibilities, meal preparations, and other stuff.
Let say you have a goal to read Tafsir this Holy Month and you actually try to work hard on achieving it, but it's not a S.M.A.R.T goal, as you haven’t decided how much Tafsir you are going to read and how much time you can dedicate. Instead, you can plan out like: You are going to complete an 800 book Tafsir in 29 days with 28 pages daily. Now that’s a S.M.A.R.T goal that can be achievable in the 29 days’ timeline.
So having goals that you can achieve realistically without using much of your energy will help you manage your Ibadah more easily.
Exercising should be a part of your plan for Ramadan. Most of us just focus on eating a lot in Iftaar and usually get tired after because of fasting the whole day long and eating heavily after. Being lazy can affect your credibility at work and fasting should not be your excuse for that. Instead of being sloppy in hitting the gym, one should do moderate exercise to keep the body active and healthy.
Ramadan is the month of becoming the better version of our self, and that only happens when we start adopting the righteous habits that are in our Islamic teachings. And for that, we need to discard the bad habits from our lives and should pledge ourselves to never let them enter in your life. That will not only make your life much better but will also bring some peace in your life.
