Event Planning Content
Weddings are huge events and it is normal not to have everything figured out. This is where save-the-date cards come in. The cards give a rough picture of your wedding plans giving your guests adequate time to plan for the event. There are a few things you need to know that will make you seem like you have everything under control. First, always remember that these cards need to have your name, your fiancé’s, the date of the wedding, location, and a notice for the formal invitation.
For the best interest of your guests, it is always a great idea to send the cards 6-8 months before the day of the wedding. This will give you more time to spread the news. The time frame you select needs to give your guests ample time to prepare. You also do not want them to confuse this for the actual invitation. They should create a level of excitement for your guests to anticipate the event.
You should only list the most important on the card. This should only cover the bases, so the guests have enough to make accommodation for the time on their calendars. The date of the wedding will help that guests mark it on their calendars. They should only have enough information to know that there will be a wedding but not too much information that it looks like an invitation. There may be websites where guests can book hotels and flights for the date, especially for those who will be traveling long distances.
