Your Baby's 3rd Birthday Party
Seeing your baby grow is an exciting experience. At times you don’t even have a trace of time as events keep unfolding so fast. When planning for the first and second birthday parties, things are easy. Your child has no preferences, and it becomes your responsibility as the parent to get everything in place. However, the 3rd birthday part is not quite easy. Your child has made a few friends s/he has a few preferences, and they also want to feel as they are part of the celebration. If you are planning for the birthday party, here are a few pointers to consider.
You don’t have to invite everyone from preschool, daycare, and the kids of the next block. Instead, keep your guest list simple by identifying only the kids that your child plays with. The party should be all about your child so, bring in the only intimate group will give your child the confidence to own the event. A three years old toddler can have five toddlers as her/his guests. This intimate group would be manageable and it will give the kids enough room to enjoy themselves. However, when you feel the need to invite more kids at the party, ensure to have extra adult hands to help you out.
There are also other possibilities of invited kids coming in with another person to the party. Therefore, when preparing your meals, ensure there is enough for everyone, including your parents, who will drop the kids at the party. Additionally, to be on a safer side, it is good to ask parents if they will stay or drop their kids and leave while sending RSVP cards.
Preparing for a party is often a challenge. There are things that you would want included meals you wish to serve and several other items. Doing the calculation from scratch can be a daunting experience, and it may put you off balance. To make it easy for yourself, start by identifying how much you can spend on the max. Once you have your estimated amount, then start working on the budget backward. However, you must ensure to start with the essential items as cake, décor, and other snacks before including unnecessary purchases like party hats and so on.
Time is crucial for any event you plan to host. Weekdays kids are in school, and their parents are busy with work. So, when planning for the party, ensure it falls on a weekend. This time, you are home, and other adults are probably home, too, so it will be easy to drop kids for the party. Another aspect to consider when setting time is that you don’t have to interfere with kid's nap time. If you want to throw a party before nap time, then your time range should be between 10:30 am to 12 noon. On the other hand is the before nap window passes think of after nap time, which is usually from 2 Pm-4 Pm. You also need to add at least 30 minutes in your party schedule in case some guests will come in late or activities extend a little more.
Planning for the party at home feels good, but it can be overwhelming for you as a parent. You will have to plan, prep, clean, host, and then clean after the party. This experience is not always good, considering you will be too tired at the party too. To avoid all that, you can look for a different location where kids will have fun too. Taking your kid's party away from home is also a time saver, and it gives kids enough room to burn all their energy out. However, if you are working on a budget and still want to customize everything that takes place, a home party might be the way for you. At home, you can control everything to fit as per your expectations with no room for mistakes.
The theme you choose is what makes the event colorful and fun. Most three-year-olds have personal ideas that they would want to be incorporated in their birthday parties for then to own the event. However, when involving the little one in choosing the theme, it also feels good to have your thoughts inclusive. If your son or daughter loves a particular character in a cartoon film, if you can, set a section where kids can play with toys of the same character. Also, if your kid has been attending preschool or daycare, having a few learning materials can work.
Your kid and his friends want to feel like part of the party. It has to engage them and make them feel happy. Therefore, you can find exciting games like treasure hunting, mystery fishing games, and statue or freeze dancing. These are all exciting games that will get you and the kids engaged and happy throughout the party. However, whatever you choose, you must ensure you have the funds to support that and sufficient space for the games.
Additionally, similar to games, you can have multiple activities that will get both kids and adults hands-on. Give each kid a cupcake to decorate and frost let them create their own cupcake masterpieces and enjoy competing with others. You can also make them blow bubbles and try running with it without popping and so on. All these activities should also train the kids on the importance of teamwork and working together.
Ensure that every detail of the party is precise and up to standards. Your child and the guests should have memories of the event for the longest time. Give everyone present a reason to look forward to the next party that you will be hosting. However, if you can't throw an extraordinary party, you can keep it simple and unique with all the essential details therein.
