A wedding is all about you and your spouse. It is easy to lose sight of this central theme amidst all the hustle of wedding preparations but at the end of the day, it should be all about you and your spouse’s debut as a married couple. As such, you need to add a personal touch so as to constantly remind everyone that it is your wedding. There are plenty of ways to add a personal touch to your wedding, little details that make a wedding ceremony remind everyone of you.

Get to Know your “Vow Master”

A vow master or a wedding officiant is the one who officiates at a wedding. He or she will be the center point to lead your wedding, and if you are looking to add your own touch in the flow of your big day, it is important to choose a wedding officiant who will take important interest in you and your spouse. Meet with him or her plenty of times before the wedding to let them learn your preferences, and to make him or her understand your personalities and your stories, along with any special needs or specific desire. To make your wedding more memorable, be as open with your wedding officiant as you can.

Add your Personal Touch to the Backdrop

The backdrop of your wedding ceremony will be part of the focal point of your wedding (you!) so it is perfectly fine to alter it as much as you like. The backdrop will be the background everyone sees as they look up to where you and your significant other are seated. As it is your big day, you and your significant other should give it a personal touch that makes everyone understand a part of you as a couple by simply looking at the backdrop. The options for dressing up your wedding backdrop are limitless, from paper flowers to vintage doors, paper chains, or even more personable – some special mementos of your time together. Select a backdrop and customize it as much as you like!

Include an Heirloom or Two

Looking to add something out of the norm or especially special? If possible, try including a family heirloom in your wedding, in your very own personalized style. You can include items from your friends as well. You can include religious items that have been in your family for generations, or you can use your spouse’s family locket as a bouquet locket, or your mother’s brooch to accessorize your bouquet wrap. It can be anything, and anything can be made into an heirloom, as long as you do not go overboard.

Include the Little Ones

If you love children or being loved by little ones, then it will be a good idea to include little ones in your wedding. They can sometimes be unpredictable, but that is part of the fun! They also add a lighthearted and personal touch to the wedding. You can ask them to carry your ring pillows or flower petals, or you can try something unique that reflects your style. Either way, you and your attendees will love to include the little ones, and the little ones will always remember their role on your big day!

Additionally, if you have pets who you love and trust to support you at your wedding, integrate them too! A dog-ringbearer is not only memorable for the entire wedding but also an extremely ‘you’ touch to your wedding style!

Include Music of your Choice

Remember it is your day and you can personalize it as much as you want. Some ceremonies require some specific music, but other than that, you can include music that is memorable for you and your spouse. From Beatles to Jazz, or Rock to even Death Metal, anything can be included as long as you and your spouse want it! ‘Here Comes the Bride!’ is a classic and tasteful choice, but can you imagine how memorable it would be to walk down the aisle to ‘Enter the Sandman’ by Metallica? That would be an entrance nobody would forget!
